"This course has been amazing! You have done a wonderful job with everything! It has been very helpful to us as we are getting prepared to apply! We are new to all of this and you have answered a lot of questions for us. The course is easy to follow. You add in examples of the course materials which are so helpful. You can definitely tell you have put a lot of work into the program. It’s not complicated to access. We also love how you interact. It always helps to have instant feedback. You are also very quick at responding to emails outside of the class as well! Which is extremely helpful!! Thank you again for your time and patience!"
"Throughout my years as a student I have been to private, public, magnet, and online schools, but none of those experiences compare to the EG online campus. When I first joined Emerge I was worried. At Emerge, the live sessions were stimulating and engaging, the teachers were invested in my learning, the work was actually interesting, and my peers were amazing!"
"Emerge Global is simply the best! My daughter is a complicated student with a high IQ. We've been searching for the right educational fit for her entire life. COVID brought us to online learning and we saw that this was her niche. EG has given her the opportunity to excel at her own pace, in her own way. The success she's seen has brought her confidence and desire to excel as well as bring back her passion for learning."
"Emerge Global Online School is simply wonderful! All of the teachers explain information well, and they are also willing to assist in a timely manner. The students are amiable, and the environment makes everyone feel welcome. The school incorporates interesting activities and events into its curriculum, creating a perfect balance between education and enjoyment!"
Be sure to read the requirements carefully when applying to U.S. universities. Some will require standardized tests (e.g. the GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT), and others will ask for different documents (writing samples, portfolio, list of patents) as part of the application process. Most students apply to 3-5 universities to increase their chances of being admitted.
Application fees are usually between $75-$100 USD, depending on the university. If you have trouble paying your application fee, contact the university or program directly. Non-U.S. students may be required to supply proof that their English-language skills are proficient enough to attend classes. Be sure to have your TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, PTE Academic, or C1 Advanced certificates available.
The U.S. doesn’t currently have a single application system for all universities.
To ensure that you are able to effectively learn and participate in your classes, you will need to show that you have good enough English-language skills to apply for admission to a U.S. university. The minimum scores will depend largely on the program and the school. Most U.S. universities will accept one of these tests:
Double check the university and program requirements to see the minimum score they expect from applicants.
Different universities and programs will require different documents. However, these are the items you are most likely to need if you apply to a university in the US:
If you are applying for an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree in the US, universities will typically offer two application deadlines: early admission and regular admission. If you’re applying for the fall (autumn) admission, early deadlines will be between October and November, the previous year. Regular admission deadlines will be between February and March, the same year.
If you are applying for a postgraduate (Master’s or PhD) degree, your American university application deadline will depend on the semester in which you are enrolling (spring intake or fall intake). If you are applying for fall admission, your deadline can be anywhere from January to March. If you are applying for spring admission, your deadline is probably anywhere between July and September, the previous year.
These deadlines can vary drastically depending on which program you are applying to or which university you wish to attend. Be sure to contact the program itself if you’re not sure about the correct deadline.
Congratulations on getting your acceptance letter!
If you aren’t a U.S. citizen, you will need to use your acceptance letter to apply for the F-1 student visa.
Check whether the university you applied to requires an enrollment fee to secure your spot there. Be sure to take some time to apply for funding and scholarships. You can also check out the Studyportals Scholarship to get some help on financing your studies abroad.
Celebrate your victory of being admitted to the university of your dreams!
